Our founder, in his faith experience, came to see God as one who is always ready to stretch out His hands to the people in need—preferably the poor, lonely, sick, orphans, and people on the periphery of society.

According to Savelberg, the way to holiness and union with God is the way to radical love of God and neighbour. In addition to the general goal of sanctification and perfection, the Little Sisters of St. Joseph are given the special goal of sanctification in loving one's neighbour through works of charity that have not yet been taken on by anyone else.

In the congregation, the practice of love has a concrete content. It's not a theory but a practical service to real people, especially to people who have no name and are often not noticed. Love looks with the eye of God and sees the special and remarkable in what remains unspectacular.
